Liposuction Before & After Case 18

This 43 year old woman had 3 children followed by a hysterectomy. She was not uncomfortable with her weight but she did not like the shape and looseness of her abdomen and waistline. She had considered a tummy tuck on the advice of a Plastic Surgeon but wanted another opinion.

5' 3" and 136 lbs. She had a very active lifestyle and exercised 3 - 4 times per week. Her examination revealed a disproportionate layer of fatty tissue around her mid section with average skin tone. The underlying muscles were loose but otherwise normally positioned. Liposuction of the waist line and abdomen was recommended. SmartLipo was performed under a light general anesthetic to allow all areas to be treated during one surgery.

3100 cc of fat was removed from the waistline. She was able to return to work after 6 days. At the time of her follow-up photos (7 months) after surgery she weighed 131 lbs. but had lost 5 inches from her waistline. She achieved better than expected skin retraction and was more motivated than ever to keep her new figure.
