What makes a plastic surgeon stand out above the others? Education, training, and experience are critical, of course. Beyond that, I believe the best plastic surgeons provide a wide range of expertise and options, take a well-rounded approach to plastic surgery, and provide personalized care to patients that extends outside their clinic.
Through this blog, I hope to share my enthusiasm for the plastic surgery and aesthetic industry here in Vancouver by sharing my experience in each of those areas.
A wide range of options: My priority is providing patients with the variety of options they need to achieve the results they want. Through education and discussion, we’ll determine which of the treatments will be your best fit, and we’ll create a plan to help them achieve the goals they hope for. From skin care products to regular BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments, or even a surgical procedure that can provide natural-looking results, I’ll use this blog to help patients learn more about treatments and procedures.
A well-rounded approach: While surgical procedures can help to achieve some aesthetic goals, nonsurgical preventive and maintenance treatments are equally important. I will put into perspective where these new innovative treatments and procedures fit, and why I choose or decide against offering them to patients. Often, non-surgical treatments are the best place to start. Laser skin treatments can address fine lines, sun damage, wrinkles and skin tone. However, only the proper combination of treatments will lead to the most effective, natural-looking results that really last. This blog is the place for patients to better understand how our procedures differ and when a given procedure is the best choice.
Care that extends outside the clinic: I’m proud of all the work I do, but I’m perhaps proudest of what I’ve been able to accomplish outside of my practice. For nearly 10 years now, I’ve been involved in Project H.A.N.D.S. This organization has provided me the opportunity to travel to rural areas of South and Central America, providing reconstructive surgical care to people who would not otherwise have access to it. As a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery residents from the University of British Columbia, I have an opportunity to help improve our future surgeons and share some of my experience. In addition, I enjoy the process of trying to exceed patients’ service expectations in our exceptional Ambulatory Surgery Centre, Cosmetic Surgical office and in our Medical Spa. Making a difference in the lives of our patients is a privilege for our entire team.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with you, and I encourage you to share any comments or questions you have about the topics I discuss on future blog posts. Watch for our September post introducing the newest non-invasive body contouring technology at YES Medspa and how it might be the perfect choice you!
