There’s no denying that this year, summer is going to look a little different…. but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself to a little self-care.  At YES Medspa & Cosmetic Surgery Centre, we have a wide array of treatments available for body contouring, skin rejuvenation including anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. While there are some treatments that are not suited to the sunny summer months, many of our treatment are safe to continue throughout the summer.

At YES Medspa & Cosmetic Surgery Centre, we take your health and safety very seriously. New safety and enhanced sanitization protocols have been implemented to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our staff in this post COVID-19 world.

In this blog, I will outline our favourite medspa services for this sunny time of year, including some new and exciting additions to the YES menu of services.

Body Contouring:

Many clients come to YES to discuss options to smooth and sculpt their physiques and summer is no exception because our body contouring treatments can be performed all year round!

EVOLVE is the newest addition to YES Medspa for body contouring. This multi-modality device can reduce unwanted fat, remodel and tighten skin and tone and strengthen muscles.

The EVOLVE platforms use radio-frequency energy, which makes it safe to use throughout the summer months. These treatments can also be completed in combination with one another in the same appointment so that you can TRIM fat and TITE’n your skin and even TONE muscles all in one appointment. These treatments are also HANDS-FREE! Once the applicators are positioned, your technician can give you space to relax and enjoy the treatment. This makes it very easy to maintain physical distancing and reduce unnecessary contact in a post COVID-19 world.

 

 

EVOLVE TRIM reduces unwanted fat Bi-polar radio-frequency energy, gentle suction and light electrical pulses safely and effectively destroy up to 30% of unwanted fat cells. This comfortable treatment takes 15 minutes to complete and is performed weekly for 6 weeks.

EVOLVE TONE just launched in Canada this June! Evolve Tone uses electrical muscle stimulation to cause involuntary muscle contractions to increase muscle strength and refine the appearance of your muscles. Imagine doing your next ab workout while reading a book! How awesome is that! This treatment targets specific muscle groups such as your abdomen, buttocks & arms. The treatment takes 20-30 minutes and are performed weekly for 6 weeks.

EVOLVE TITE is designed to remodel the skin and tighten areas of loose or crepey appearance.  Radio-frequency energy bulk heats your tissue to stimulate the creation of new collagen and elastin fibres – a necessary component of younger looking skin. Unlike other devices which can have uneven heat distribution, reducing efficacy, Evolve TITE adjusts each applicator multiple times per second to make these treatments more comfortable and more effective.  These treatments take 30-45 minutes and are completed weekly for 6 weeks. They are so comfortable, you can even combine your appointment with other treatments, such as HydraFacials or Chemical peels.

SculpSure® is a  YES Medspa favourite for those who want to address those stubborn pockets of fat non-surgically & with fewer appointments. With no downtime and a quick 25 – minute treatment, you can be back to your summer activities as soon as you leave the office. Treatments are performed once every 6-8 weeks. SculpSure® uses targeted thermal laser energy to selectively heat unwanted fat cells. The heat destroys up to 24% of these fat cells eliminates them through the body’s natural metabolic processes.  Results are visible approximately 12 weeks after your first treatment, however, 2 treatments are typically required to achieve your desired reduction.

RF Enhanced Micro-Needling

Morpheus8 Micro-Needling is another new and exciting addition to the YES Medspa menu and it is PERFECT for the summer months. Morpheus8 uses radio-frequency enhanced needles to transform your skin from the inside out. The Radio-frequency energy stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin and the 24 micro-needles create micro-damage to the surface of the skin, improving texture. With each treatment you will see softening of fine lines & wrinkles, increased skin tightening, and an improved appearance to scars and stretch-marks. It is safe to use on any area of the body as well as any skin type.

Plus, Morpheus8 doesn’t just address superficial tissue; it directs energy toward the adipose fat that is notorious for creating jowls, double chins, bra rolls, banana rolls and more.

Facials

Your skin has been stuck inside for the last few months of quarantine. Now is the time to treat yourself with gentle, yet effective skin rejuvenation treatments. We recommend pausing laser treatments in the summer if you’re someone that loves to be outside. But that doesn’t mean you have to pause your skin results.  Skin renewal treatments such as HydraFacials and AlumierMD Chemical Peels are an excellent choice to help your skin look and feel renewed. We recommend monthly facial treatments for our Vancouver patients looking to maintain their results from their previous laser treatments and achieve a healthy skin glow. Most of these  treatments are gentle enough to complete bi-weekly, however, when completed monthly, these treatments increase cellular turnover, reduce congestion and gradually improve the appearance of sun damage, acne and other minor skin ailments.

HydraFacial exfoliates your skin using a patented Vortex-Fusion^® applicator that simultaneouslyinfuses the skin with a nutrient rich serums and exfoliates away dead skin. This treatment combines the luxurious feel of a spa facial with the significant improvements you’d expect from a professional peel. Booster serums can also be added to your treatment to help address more specific concerns such as sun damage, melasma, fine lines & wrinkles and rosacea. Lymphatic Massage and LED light therapy are also available to enhance your HydraFacial and improve your skin results.

Chemical Peels: At YES we offer both the ZO Stimulator Chemical Peel & the AlumierMD Chemical Peel series.

The newest addition to the YES chemical peel line up is the AlumierMD chemical peel series. AlumierMD uses clean science to offer effective and medically derived treatments options. There is a perfect peel for every skin type and lifestyle.

We offer our Vancouver-area clients summer friendly AlumierMD peel protocols to gently resurface the skin and address acne without downtime. The Enzyme Retexturing treatment uses fruit enzymes to gently exfoliate and resurface your skin to address signs of aging and the Refining Clay Mask treatment uses a unique blend of clays and exfoliating ingredients to removes dead skin cells and trapped oil while promoting skin renewal. Both of these treatments can be performed monthly and with less downtime than the other AlumierMD peels.

If you are able to avoid the sun for a few days post treatment, you can consider one of the more advanced chemical peels from AlumierMD.

Stubborn acne breakouts can be treated with a series of BHA20 peels, which uses 20% Salicylic Acid (a Beta Hydroxy Acid) to improve skin texture, exfoliate dead skin cells and clear your pores to control acne breakouts with minimal downtime.

The Alpha Hydroxy Duo peel uses a combination of  lactic acid and glycolic acid to gently resurface the skin. This peel series will decrease the visible signs of aging and hyperpigmentation.

The AlumierMD Glow and Power Glow Chemical peels are not for the faint of heart and are recommended only if you are able to stay out of the sun during your post treatment peel.  This multipurpose resurfacing treatment combines the powers of salicylic acid,  lactic acid, resorcinol & soy amino acids to resurface the skin. It works to improve fine lines and wrinkles, more severe pigmentation and textural concerns. You can expect peeling to last anywhere form 5-10 days post treatment.

If you have are considered a chemical peel but were too nervous about dealing with the post peel downtime, the ZO peel is perfect peel for you! The ZO Stimulator Peel is affectionately referred to as the ‘Red Carpet peel’ because there is no downtime after the treatment. A gentle combination of lactic, glycolic and citric acid chemically exfoliates the skin. After each peel you’ll leave the office with a glowing rejuvenated complexion, ready for any red-carpet event!

Wrinkle-Smoothing Injections, Dermal Fillers & Platelet Rich Injections

At YES Medspa & Cosmetic Surgery we have two experienced physician injectors that pride themselves on natural and long-lasting results. Both Dr. Mathew Mosher & Dr. Dennis Lo focus on enhancing your natural appearance without “over-doing it”. With over 35 years of combined experience with cosmetic injections, you are in great hands!

Wrinkle-smoothing injections use botulinum toxin A (aka BOTOX) to safely and effectively reduce the signs of aging and refresh your appearance this summer. How does it work? A purified protein temporarily disables the tiny muscles responsible for “dynamic wrinkles”—those caused by repeated facial expressions such as frowning or squinting. Resulting in smooth, wrinkle free expressions.

Dermal Fillers are another great way to rejuvenate your appearance this summer. At YES we only use hyaluronic acid based fillers, which are non-animal derived and require no allergy testing. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body, and works with your body to add volume and hydration to the treated area. When injected skillfully, these treatments add volume to hollowed areas of the face, lift areas with excess laxity and provide a younger looking appearance. 

Do you find yourself plagued by excess sweat during the summer? Why not consider a Hyperhidrosis treatment. Our skilled nurse injectors offer these quick and comfortable treatments to both men and women in the Vancouver area to help them feel more comfortable and confident in their own skin. How does it work? Small amounts of botulinum toxin A (aka BOTOX) is injected into the effected area. Once injected, this protein inhibits the secretion of the chemical responsible for activating your sweat glands. Two weeks after your treatment, you will experience a reduction in the amount of sweat produced in the treated area which will last up to 6-8 months. Plus, your extended health plan may help cover some of the treatment cost!

Platelet-Rich Injections are new to YES Medspa Cosmetic Surgery Centre. Both Dr. Mosher & Dr. Lo are excited to be able to offer their Vancouver-area clients new and effective treatment options. Platelet Rich injections use your body’s own ingredients to stimulate collagen and elastin.  How does it work? A small amount of your blood is drawn at your appointment and spun to produce platelet-rich plasma. This mixture of your own plasma, containing growth factors, is then injected into targeted areas to promote collagen and elastin.  This treatment can help improve the appearance of dark circles, hollowing tear troughs in the under-eye areas, lessen nasolabial fold or marionette lines, improve crepey to mildly wrinkled skin on face, neck, chest, hands, and even stretch marks.  A series of 3-6 treatments is recommended, with treatments taking place every 4-6 weeks.
